Stretch marks are a standard skin condition that is essentially a cosmetic issue occurring in girls more so than men. At first impression, stretch marks are thin shallow scars that at first appear red to purple and tend to lighten in color over a period of time. Prime causes of stretch marks include pregnancy, dramatic weight changes, hormonal changes in adolescences and muscle building exercises. Stretch marks are sometimes found on breasts, thighs, hips and buttocks .

There are a number of stretch mark removal products on the market that can help lessen the appearance of stretch marks and even remove them wholly. Additionally, many of the consumer products offer free trials so you can easily test the product on your own skin before financially committing to a bigger quantity of the product.

It’s always a good practice to perform a little research before purchasing a fresh product ; researching stretch mark removal reviews and customer testimonials help, and then purchasing from a reputable source can make sure that you receive a top-quality product that has a fair chance of working for you. But unfortunately consumer products will not be ready to help everyone, and in that case plastic surgery or laser stretch mark removal techniques are typically needed to get rid of the more dour stretch marks.

A home-based stretch mark removal remedy that you may wish to try includes applying cocoa butter at least twice a day to your stretch marked skin, especially before going to bed. Also, an increased intake of foods with vitamin A, E and C like carrots, papayas and tomatoes can help the skin regeneration itself. To help the growth of new epidermal cells, eat foods rich in trans-acids like fish. If you are acquainted with alpha hydroxy acids, they’ll exfoliate your skin and soften it to boost pliancy. Tretinoin or retanin-A will also help to loosen keratin in the outer skin layer and exfoliate dead epidermis cells.

Everyone’s skin is different so there is no silver bullet treatment for stretch marks which will cure stretch marks for everyone. Fortuitously lots of the product makers are completely aware of this and afterwards offer free trial quantities of their product, making it really easy to figure out if a particular stretch mark removal product will work with your unique skin.

Laser tattoo removal, is in use by a lot of cosmetic surgery, depends on different light wavelengths from visible light to near-infrared radiation, this has a similarity with acne scars laser treatment. This diversity of laser beams is justified by the very demanding operation of tattoo removal particularly in the case of very colored tattoos. A combination of two or more tattoos can thus be used during the same procedure. Another essential parameter here is the pulse duration, because this element has a direct connection with the safety of the procedure. The longer the exposure to the laser beam, which translates into a longer pulse duration, the higher the incidence of acute punctuate bleeding.

Laser tattoo removal can thus prove very traumatic and painful for the tissues particularly when the tattoo removal process requires repeated treatment sessions. Serious side effects have been reported in association with very big tattoos designed in a multitude of colors. Depending on how deep the ink has penetrated the skin, the medical practitioner will have to adjust the spot size of the laser light. When a large width of the laser beam is used, the treatment will be completed faster. Nevertheless, by the exposure of extensive skin portions to the action of the light, side effects can occur with a higher incidence rate.

It is also very natural to question and doubt the efficiency of laser tattoo removal. And there is no firm answer that will shed away doubt. Besides the technical properties of the equipment, the individual factors have a very important influence on the rate of success, which means that without a good immune function, you’ll have troubles eliminating the ink in the skin. A healthy lifestyle, a good health condition, proper night rest and hydration represent side factors that play a role in tattoo removal. Normally, health investigations are are a rule of the thumb before starting laser tattoo removal, and no treatment will be initiated on patients with deficient immune systems.

As for the skin look after laser tattoo removal, there will be a white discoloration of the tissues and a slight inflammation. Punctuate bleeding could also appear occasionally. The white color is in fact steam or gas trapped in the skin and, the pinpoint bleeding represents the consequence of the laser light acting on the tattoo pigment. This is usually a sign of injury. The skin around the tattoo may also be inflated but such side effects have low intensity of manifestation. Over the next 14 days following the laser tattoo removal session a crust will develop over the entire treated area, and the tattoo fading will become visible over the next eight weeks.

You cannot risk just using whatever skin care products you like or the whole cheaper is better mentality just because you are working on a small budget. Some over the counter organic skin baby skin care products may contain ingredients not suitable for your baby’s sensitive skin type. There’s very good reasons why mice should be using a natural moisturiser. And many of those reasons also apply to people, including the millions of women who use moisturisers in America.

A recent study was set up to investigate whether caffeine could cause skin cancer in mice. As a part of that study each mouse had moisturiser applied to it’s skin 5 times a day for 17 weeks. The study is reported in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.

Although this was not being studied, the researchers were surprised to find that the application of these moisturisers on the skin of the mice “increased the total number of histologically characterized tumors by 69%”. In other words the mice that received the moisturiser had a very significant increase in their rate of skin cancer.

Lets examine this a little more closely and find out why mice, and millions of women in the US who use moisturisers everyday, should be much more seriously considering using a natural moisturiser.

There were 4 different moisturisers used in the study. These were Dermabase, Dermovan, Eucerin, or Vanicream. All 4 of these moisturisers contain sodium lauryl sulphate (SLF) as well a mineral oil.

Mineral oil is a petrochemical product that comes from crude oil. It is found extensively in a very wide range of personal products such as skin care and anti aging products, cosmetics and other personal products. It is used so widely because it is incredibly cheap. Mineral oil is also found in many moisturisers, and has been linked to cancer and other serious health issues.

You also find sodium lauryl sulphate in a wide range of soaps and shampoos and many consumers are aware that there are health risks from using products that contain sodium lauryl sulphate. For these reasons there are now soaps and shampoos available which advertise that they do not contain sodium lauryl sulphate. Sodium lauryl sulphate has been linked to cancer and other health problems as well. But many consumers are completely unaware that it is also found in many modern moisturisers.

Of course the fact that moisturisers containing mineral oil and sodium lauryl sulphate were used on the mice, and that the mice contracted skin cancer, doesn’t prove that the sodium lauryl sulphate or the mineral oil caused the skin cancer. Nevertheless it is still a worrying conclusion. To establish the exact cause of the skin cancer would require more study. But it may have you sufficiently worried to more seriously consider using a natural moisturiser that doesn’t contain sodium lauryl sulphate or mineral oil in the future. But there is one more fact about which you should also be aware.

And this is it. The scientists were so concerned about the result that they decided to do the study again using a more natural moisturiser which didn’t contain either sodium lauryl sulphate or mineral oil. When they did the study a second time using this more natural moisturiser they found no increase in the rate of skin cancer in the mice at all.

So you can see that there are good reasons why millions of American women, as well as mice, should be using a much more natural facial moisturiser rather than a moisturiser that they may be using now, which may contain sodium lauryl sulphate and mineral oil.

There’s hundreds or even thousands of personal products such as skin care products that contain chemical and petrochemical ingredients, many of which are known to have health implications. Some of these ingredients have been shown to cause cancer and may well be found in the moisturiser, as well as well as other skin care products that you may have even used today.

There are excellent natural skin care products available, including natural face moisturisers, which do not contain any of these chemical and petrochemical ingredients and which work extremely well.

If you are afraid of being embarassed, facial warts are your worst enemy. Physical problems aren’t the only ones you have to worry about. The face is probably the worst place to have warts. Because of the location, people hesitate to move on this because they don’t want to make it worse. Well the good news is that there are several ways to remove warts, even facial warts.

The first option and the most well known is through freezing the wart off. The process of doing this type of procedure is called cryotherapy. You use liquid nitrogen to freeze the wart and it falls off. It can cause a lot of pain and can leave scars. If you want to got his route, it will be cheapest cause the medicine is more available. Also, this wart removal procedure can be done by a doctor but because of that, it will cost more. Pack a lunch, cause you will be waiting for a few weeks before the results show up.

Surgery is your next option you need to explore. This can be expensive and it is extremely impractical. You have to schedule an appointment. With surgery comes crazy problems that can’t be foreseen.

My favorite method, the one that personally worked for me was using a natural method. Natural is the best way to go about getting warts removed without pain or scars. In fact there is a book out there that will teach you exactly how to remove warts!

Are you getting older and are you noticing your skin aging? This happens to everyone and when it does our thoughts usually turn to better skin care. I want to examine the problems with modern skin care products and anti aging products and to consider why you might be well advised to choose all natural skin care products the next time you purchase.

Using anti aging products is meant to be a positive to your life, not a negative. They’re meant to be good for you, by reversing skin aging problems that you see with age including wrinkles, age spots, lines and skin sagging and more.

But unfortunately for many people the use of anti aging products is not a positive but a negative. There are many people who suffer negative health and skin reactions to the use of anti aging products, including skin problems like eczema and allergies. I research these types of problems because I saw it happen to a member of my own family.

And there is one simple reason for this, a reason that does not apply to all natural skin care products.

The reason is this. Many of the antaging brands that you may take for granted and perhaps even use every day contain a range of chemical and petrochemical ingredients, many of which are known to cause cancer and many of which lead to skin problems as well as other health problems.

I spend much of my time researching skin care products and looking at the health implications of many of the chemical ingredients which are used in them. For example just this morning I was reading the results of a study done on mice which has been published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology which concluded that the use of moisturizers containing sodium lauryl sulphate increase the risk of skin cancer in mice by 69 percent.

There are hundreds of studies, perhaps thousands of studies which have concluded that these chemical ingredients that are so common in modern anti aging products can cause health problems and skin problems. Some of these chemicals include parabens, fragrances, petroleum products, sodium lauryl sulphate and much more.

There’s many excellent natural ingredients which are well known to be excellent for optimum skin health and which are also extremely safe and in many cases have been eaten by people for years. These ingredients are those used in all natural anti aging products.

Any skin care company can use any of these natural ingredients but the skin care industry is voracious with billions of dollars at stake and there is serious competition in the industry including price competition. These natural ingredients are effective but expensive whilst the chemical alternatives used in so many products are way cheaper. Cheaper ingredients are used so the skin care companies can compete on price and still allow plenty of budget for television advertising.

But this opens an opportunity for some small niche skin care companies to take advantage of this by producing all natural skin care products that do use these ingredients and which can therefore produce high-quality products using safe ingredients that are very effective and which do not subject the user to health or skin problems.

If you choose wisely you really can find excellent natural skin care products that are extremely effective for all skin types and which will not create problems with allergies or skin irritation.

Notice that I said “if you choose wisely”. You will find all natural skin care products which are called that on the label but which contain many of the chemical ingredients found in so many others. Because the government does not regulate either what is put into skin care products or what is claimed on the label anything goes.

As I said the best all natural in care products are highly effective, and the very best ones need to be highly effective because they are backed up by a 100 percent money back guarantee, something highly unusual in the anti aging industry.

So if you are slowly becoming aware of the risks of chemical ingredients in modern anti aging products then there is good news. You really can find excellent skin care products that are safe to use, which are highly effective and which do not exposu you to any health risks.

Stretch marks are marks on the skin that can vary in size. They might be fairlysmall or be large enough to resemble scars. Although they do not cause any problems from a health standpoint, they are not particularly nice to look at. Most individuals would prefer removing them if possible and there are a lot of home remedies for stretch marks that can help.

A frequent cause of these ugly scars is pregnancy, but any weight gain as well as loss can result in them. The growth spurts experienced in teenage years are also a common cause. Additional factors can include genetics and stress.

You can find a number of different creams to purchase that are supposed to help reduce or get rid of stretch marks. They tend to be on the expensive side. On the other hand, there are abundant home remedies that can be just as effective, if not more so. Home remedies for stretch marks have been passed down within families for years.

Home stretch marks remedies generally revolve around the massaging of a cream or oil of some type onto the marks. Those that are utilized most frequently include: Vitamin E oil, olive oil, lavender oil, aloe vera gel, shea butter and cocoa butter. Recommended recipes normally involve a mix of several of these.

One of the simplest blends to begin with is by taking an oil to use as a base, such as almond oil, and then adding lavender oil to it. This is not only good for your skin; the aroma is fantastic also. Lavender essential oil is used to relax and relieve stress so it is especially good to use in the evening.

Or just get several of the different recommended oils and find your own blend that you prefer. A big component of how much to add of each is going to be based on the consistency you favor. You can vary the proportions until you find a blend that you like personally. There is no wrong mixture.

These butters and oils, or your individual blend, can be used several times each day. They will definitely be great for your skin, and will hopefully have an effect on your stretch marks also. They are all very mild products, so there is no need to be concerned about utilizing them over extended periods of time.

As well as the topical remedies, you ought to also look at your diet and exercise regime. Exercising will tone up the regions around the stretch marks and help prevent more. As for your diet, you will need to include foods that supply you with Vitamins A, C and E. Zinc is also an important mineral for your skin. Foods you need to concentrate on are fruit, vegetables (green leafy ones particularly), fish oil and nuts. All of these will be good for the skin. Drinking lots of water is also very important for hydrated and healthy skin.

Start with the diet and exercise right away. Then start playing with a few of the different home remedies for stretch marks. You may find the perfect combination for you to lose your stretch marks naturally without spending a lot of cash doing it.

Acne can be very damaging to not only your skin, but to your emotions and even self-confidence. Fortunately, for yourself, you have a wide variety of effective methods to remove and reduce your acne to choose from. Listed below are seven options for curing acne for you to choose from that will best fit your individual situation.

1. Benzoyl Peroxide

Probably one of the top most effective methods of treatment you will find on the market, this is the main reason why you will see this ingredient in many other different acne treatment products out there. Most of the commercial products contain benzoyl peroxide since it attacks the very bacteria that are known to cause breakouts.

2. Accutane

This treatment is very strong and should be used only for those people who are suffering from a severe case of acne. This very potent drug has been known to take care of even the worst of acne problems. Concerning the drugs strength, it is a wise move to consult a doctor before using Accutane since it can possibly be harmful to you and may cause some side affects you need to be aware of.

3. ClearPores

This is a very fast acting product that can help clear up that acne of yours in a very short time. When it is used, it first starts by attacking the p. acnes bacteria. After that, it starts to move on to shedding dead skin cells which stops excess oil being built up. This product will nominally clear up the condition you are trying so hard to get rid of.

4. Exposed

This product also fights the p. acnes bacteria while working to regulate the production of sebum. By unclogging your pores and properly balancing the amount of oil your skin produces, it is one of the best acne cures out there. Standing by the product confidently, manufacturers even offer a 365-day guarantee.

5. Acnezine

This acne medication has become increasingly popular since the treatment is aimed at preventing future breakouts of acne while at the same time treating the acne you already have. By using anti-oxidants, it flushes out unwanted and harmful toxins that help develop acne over time. It has a large mixture of ingredients to do the job effectively.

6. Proactiv

This is of course the most well known acne treatment on the market. This is because it has a number of endorsing celebrities to promote the products, which has created the image that it is the number one acne treatment out there. It does great in getting rid of pimples with a three-step process, which has a cleanser, toner, and of course repairing lotion for you to apply.

7. Laser Treatment

If you have tried all sorts of products, methods and techniques to get rid of your acne, laser treatment may be your only option. Again, like some of the other products it is intended for very severe cases of acne, laser treatment targets infected areas by using laser light impulses. After the treatment however, there will probably be some minor swelling and redness that will fade away in a short amount of time with results showing as soon as a week.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that modern cutting edge technology would be producing high-tech ingredients at the cutting edge of skin care science to produce high-quality and more effective antiaging products. However the reality is that the reverse is the case and there are many ingredients which have been known for centuries to be good for your skin which are, or should be, found in the best skin care products to produce the optimum health for your skin. Seaweed and sheeps wool are 2 examples.

What do sheep and seaweed have to do with skin aging? In fact there has been a seaweed skin care link for hundreds of years. For centuries Japanese women have used seaweed for great skin care.

There is a particular type of seaweed found around Japan, called Phytessence Wakame that has been eaten by the Japanese for hundreds of years. The fact that Japanese women, as they age, have some of the best skin in the world is no coincidence. The Japanese have known about the seaweed skin care link for a long time.

And they have always prized Phytessence Wakame for it’s skin care properties.

Cutting-edge science has now found why this ancient ingredient is so good for your skin, and as a result there are some excellent seaweed extract skin products now available. The reason has to do with enzymes. There is one enzyme in particular, called hyaluronidase, which breaks down collagen and elastin which are big components of your skin.

Collagen and elastin are important skin proteins which have a role in maintaining skin elasticity, and it is elasticity which is responsible for maintaining that strength and suppleness that keeps wrinkles and sagging at bay. So you don’t want hyaluronidase breaking down any of your collagen and elastin.

Science has found that there are some important components of Phytessence Wakame that help inhibit the actions of this enzyme and this improves the levels of collagen and elastin in your skin can in turn lead to better skin elasticity and less wrinkles.

So that’s the seaweed but what about the sheep? There may be a seaweed skin care link but what in the world do sheep have to do with it?

Again it’s all about those 2 important proteins collagen and elastin. Modern scientists have also found that there are components in the wool of sheep which help the skin produce more collagen and elastin by itself. This also helps maintain levels of collagen and elastin in the skin as you age, and a new product, called Cynergy TK, is the result. It’s actually a patented ingredient that is used in the best skin care products.

So as you can see there is a clear seaweed skin care link, and sheeps wool is a big part of it. As a result there are some excellent seaweed extract skin care products available using extracts of Phytessence Wakame as well as Cynergy TK.

To find out where to source products that use the extracts of seaweed and Cynergy TK visit my website.

If you’re like most of us, outdoor leisure activities will make up an important part of your life next summer.  Perhaps it was activities at the beach or maybe outside enjoying gardening or playing your favourite sporting activity like tennis. Other favourite summer outdoor activities include fishing, swimming or even just enjoying the warm weather and sunshine at home in the back yard with your loved ones.

Whatever outside activities you enjoy over summer, most of us are aware of the need for protection from the sun’s UV rays.It seems that today the sun-protection message is repeatedly promoted - and promoted often.

If you are an older individual, you might remember when the use of sun protection was rare and not greatly advertised. It was generally understood that sunburn was simply a side effect of too much sun that was to be tolerated and even expected.

Of course that's all radically changed as research into the effects of UV rays on the skin and potentially as a cause for melanoma skin cancer.Kids in particular are reinforced continually that protection from the sun is critical to keeping healthy.  There are even new scientificaly developed products like heliocare oral that can be taken orally, that offer sun-protection from the inside out.

Other research points out that only a small percentage of people wear suscreen routinely, despite the media promoting the prevention message.  It has also become clear now, that sun protection and sunscreen is critical in the winter.Especially where ist snows or if you are living or visiting areas with a high altitude.Just because it is cold outside doesn’t mean there’s no risk.Just because it is cold, does not mean we are exempt from sun damage to the skin.

Steps to Protect From Sun Damage

Here are some ways you can avoid sunburn and potential skin damage next summer.  These guidelines are provided by the US Environmental Protection Agency:

1. Limit Your Sun Exposure in The Middle of The Day - Rays from the sun are at their peak between 10:00 am and about 4:00 pm.  When you can, keeping out of the sun during these times for as long as possible will reduce the harmful effects of sunburn.

2. Put on A HAT - Choose headwear with a wide brim.  This willl give good sun-protection for the face, ears and neck.  These sun-sensitive areas are notorious for being vulnerable to the sun.

3. Use Clothing to Cover Up - Loose fitting and tightly woven, , and full-length clothing is a suitable method to give prtection to your body from the sun’s UV rays.

4. Wear Eye Protection Sunglasses that Block 99-100% of UV Radiation.  It’s true that sunglasses that deliver  99-100% UVA and UVB protection will significantly minimise exposure to the sun and can help to prevent eye damage and cataracts. Not all eye protection is effective! You should read the label when you buy eye protection.

5. Always Use Sunscreen - Use a broad spectrum with a high Sun Protection Factor (SPF).  This means at least SPF15 or 30.The recommended use of sunscreen is every 2 hrs.  Perspiration can reduce the effectiveness of sunscreen and of course swimming and towelling off can also do the same.

6. Stay Away From Sunlamps and Sun Bed Clinics - The source of light that comes from artificial means can be harmful to the skin and to the eyes - avoid where possible. It is recommended that you avoid artificial sources of UV light.

7. Keep an Eye Out For The UV Index - The UV (ultra-violet) Index gives important data to help you plan your outdoor activities in ways that prevent overexposure to the sun. It was developed by weather authorities and advertised extensively by the media (including online in your area). Before you venture into the sun you should check your local UV index.

While new advances in technology and natural remedies like heliocare will continue, there is really no substitute for education about the effects of the sun and having a healthy respect for the potential danger to your body.
